The films I make are about ‘the strength of fragility’. I am interested in characters with a certain otherness; characters that find their inner strength, not despite but because of their fragility.

Other themes that interest me are: the struggle between inner life versus outer world; finding a deeper consciousness of the world we live in today; synchronicity and the interrelatedness of things; memory and dream versus reality.

Another fascination is Asia. I love the Asian minimalistic aesthetics, their delicateness and serenity, their spirituality and their porcelain faces that hide so many unspoken emotions and mysteries.

Besides the themes mentioned above I must confess to also have a weakness for historical costume dramas that evoke in me feelings of dreamlike nostalgia.

And sometimes I love to dream and drift even further, to worlds and universes with their own laws and filled with magical creatures.
