Anna Suriani Wasch (1979)
was born in Merano, a Spa town
in the middle of the Italian Alps. She grew up in
the lowlands of Amsterdam in an Austrian-Italian/Dutch-Asian family.
After the Rudolf Steiner high school she went on to study ‘Film- and Television Sciences’ at the University of Amsterdam; film directing at the FAMU film school in Prague and graduated at the Italian national film school ‘Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia’ in Rome.
During and after filmschools Anna (co-)wrote and directed various short and medium length films in digital, 16mm and 35mm that have been screened at several international film festivals.
Also she has been selected for various workshops and seminars such as Berlinale Talent Campus, Film Spring, Script & Pitch Workshops, Torino Film Lab, with tutors like Jane Campion, Abbas Kiarostami, Slawomir Idziak, Andrzej Wajda, Paul Haggis and many more.
